Downwind is one of the ways we most like to sail with kitesurfing. It provides us with a complete connection with the sea and the wind, it is an indescribable sensation of freedom. The surrounding nature makes the adventure complete. One of the advantages of Ilha do Guajiru at Ceara is that the region allows downwinds of different levels of difficulty. Besides the stunning scenery, the place is safe and has excellent wind conditions for downwinds. ROUTE #1

ALMOFALA

to

ILHA DO GUAJIRU

This is the most popular downwind in the area! It passes through mangrove areas, huge flat lagoons, water depths of 1m and nature exuberant. Perfect for beginners or for anyone who wants downwinds within short distance.

  • Estimated time: 2 hours of downwind

  • Level of difficulty: easy or medium

ROUTE #2

ILHA DO GUAJIRU

to

SECRET SPOTS

This is the most exclusive downwind of the region and can be done in two sections, one short and the other medium. You will pass through the wind farms in perfect harmony with the large lagoons. The look is amazing with a flat and shallow water.

  • Distance: 3 sections - 6Km (secret 1) / 12 km (secret 2) or 25 km (secret 3).

  • Estimated time: 1.5 hours or 3 hours of downwind.

  • Level of difficulty: easy or medium.

ROUTE #3

ILHA DO GUAJIRU

to

PREÁ / JERICOACOARA

This is the most complete and challenging downwind in the region. You will see long stretches of sands of deserted beaches, secluded villages of fishermen, huge lagoons flats and small waves in the final stretch. We ended the trip with the sunset in the charming village of Jericoacoara.

  • Distance: 70 Km.

  • Estimated time: 4 to 5 hours of downwind.

  • Difficulty level: medium-advanced.
