The SoulKite Brazil
SoulKite began in 2009 in Ceará with Tomaz passion for kitesurfing. The idea arose to use it to change people's lives and connect them with nature. More than an extreme sport, it has become a philosophy of life. His journey began as one of the pioneers of kitesurfing in Fortaleza, setting off for downwinds in Cumbuco. Years later, now located on Guajiru Island, SoulKite is one of the largest promoters of kitesurfing in the area, carrying out various activities so that more people can learn and enjoy the sport. SoulKite teaches sailing to people of all ages and levels. It also carries out social work with children and young people in socially vulnerable situations, integrating the local community with the sport. And, finally, it offers downwinds and kitetrips for kitesurfers.

He competed in hydrofoil kite tubular events in 2019 and 2020. He obtained his first Assistant Instructor certification from the IKO in 2009 in Cumbuco. Between 2010 and 2011 he lived on Tabuba beach where he improved and began working teaching surfing and kitesurfing at the nautical center of the Vila Galé Hotel on Cumbuco beach, a breeding ground for talent in the sport.
A professional wind and mechatronics technician, Tomaz decided in 2012 to work in the renewable energy sector, focusing on helping the planet.
After moving to Itarema on Guajiru Island in 2015, he returned to teaching. In 2016, he completed his instructor training with the International Kitesurfing Association (IKO) and joined the network, aiming to improve his teaching techniques and travel to teach kitesurfing in various regions of Brazil and the world.
For Tomaz, "in this world, what matters is improving people's lives, presenting the freedom and emotional health that kitesurfing provides." After all, more than a sport, kitesurfing is a lifestyle!
Testimonials
Downwind from Cumbuco to Barra Grande along with SoulKite was fantastic. It was the biggest adventure in my 8 years of kitesurfing and I will definitely do it again the next time I am in Brazil.

About 4 years ago I made my first trip to Ceará. I was amazed by the scenery, the weather and the people, but what amazed me the most was a day when I arrived in one of the beautiful lagoons and saw several colorful kites moving in the wind. At that moment I fell in love! It was love at first sight through kitesurfing! And that's when I thought, I want to do it.
Then I met my teacher Tomaz André, and spent the rest of the days of my trip just doing kite lessons.
What I can say about this person, he is an incredible and enlightened person, considerate, loves what he does, and loves the sport that he practices. From those first classes came a great friendship between student and teacher. I consider him a very special person.
Kitesurfing has become the main and best addiction of my life. It brought me the best friends I have today. It took me to see places in Brazil and in the world that I would never imagine going, all in search of the best wind conditions.
There is no better feeling than being in the water, feeling the wind, contemplating every incredible landscape, and at the end of the day have the feeling of satisfaction. I love this sport.

A 10-day downwind between Cumbuco beach and Luis Correia in Piaui was an incredible experience. We passed by divine sand dunes, watched the magical afternoons, met people, and explored unique places for any adventurous traveler. The nights in Jericoacoara and its magic were forever stored in my memory. I have the desire to return soon to Ceara and to discover new places along with SoulKite Brazil.

I would like to thank SoulKite for having made my kitetrip possible between Jericoacoara and Atins. It was a multi-day adventure at sea provided with all the guidance and security for that route. In addition to all the professionalism related to the sport, SoulKite can also provide moments of great fun and great friendship because the team is very caring. They do everything for us to feel good in the most inhospitable environments of kitesurfing!
